Cherry Pie

Fergus and I went up to Napa on Sunday for this race. I like technical crits for the fact that they keep you on your toes. We arrrived early enough to take care of all the essentials and get to the staging area with enough time to ensure we didn’t wind up on the back end of the 100-man field.

Saturday was more of a recovery day for me anyways, after doing hill repeats in my 39x14 on Friday. So I just did an easy spin.
Sunday I rode down to Fremont and did the last EB crit. Had to get my feet wet before Valley of the Sun. It was fast and fun. I felt pretty good. Got in several breakaway attempts and had no problems

Early Bird Crit (Cat4)

I wasn’t exactly thrilled with a 3:30 start time at first but came to realize what the pro riders must already know. The late start time can be a blessing in disguise. I was able to socialize the night before and sleep in with enough time to make it to the race and get in a decent warm up. I initially wanted to arrive super early and do a pre-race ride but some technical difficulties
